Northern Ireland

After the excitement of Newcastle and Glasgow, were looking forward to the next step of our trip. We went from Glasgow three days ago.

Three days ago we took the main ferry link from Scotland to Northern Ireland. On the ferry, Hedvig and I met an older man, around 70 years. He was talking a lot about Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. He told us how Ireland was a part of United Kingdom politically, but a part of Ireland geographically and why there had been a lot of troubles and conflict in the last thirty years. I’ve never think I have learned so much in such a short time. We could ask him anything about United Kingdom’s history.

When we came to Belfast we were so tired, so we just got undressed and plunged in bed. When we woke up it was our shopping day off our trip. We had no plans, and that was so wonderful. We shopped A LOT. I’ve never used so much money that I have today. The good thing with shopping in Ireland is that they have their own stores. So hopefully, there is no one home in Norway that has these clothes. After the shopping day, we just ate
out.

This morning we took the bus from Belfast to Dublin. We are going to stay her to-morrow.  Here in Dublin we have no special plans either. Just take everything on the fly. But tomorrow, it is the Orangemen’s Day. Orangemen’s Day are for to commemorate the Battle of Aughrim, were the Protestant got their victory over the Catholics in 1692. So I guess that tomorrow, we’ll watch the parade and eat some good Food and than try out some of the pubs nearby.
